Release Cycles
0.9.x
A major area of focus for the 0.9.x release cycle will be on Mediawiki-compatibility, ease-of-use and performance.
Code has been written
The following items will be included in 0.9.x:
- DONE Upgrade to Spring Framework 3.0.
- DONE Upgrade to Spring Security 3.0.
- In-Progress Tech:Performance - performance improvements. See Tech:Performance#Updates for JAMWiki 0.9.0 for a partial list of performance improvements that have already been committed to the Subversion repository for inclusion in 0.9.0.
- In-Progress Tech:Parser Improvements#JAMWiki 0.9.x - parser improvements to improve reliability, speed, and Mediawiki-compatibility, including support for additional HTML tags/attributes, the Mediawiki {{if:}} parser function, limited support for the {{#expr:}} parser function, and support for {{subst:}}.
- In-Progress Tech:Virtual Wiki Enhancements - There is a new Special:VirtualWiki page that provides the capability for translating namespaces on a per-virtual wiki basis, and also adds the long-requested capability to make a virtual wiki other than "en" the default.
Likely to be included
The following items will most likely be included in 0.9.x, but no code has yet been written:

0.8.x
The 0.8.x release cycle will hopefully focus on making it easier to migrate a Mediawiki installation to/from JAMWiki. Additionally, by the time 0.8.0 is released the JDK 1.4 end-of-life process should have been completed, so it will then be appropriate to upgrade JAMWiki's minimum JDK requirements and begin utilizing features from JDK 5.0.
- DONE Tech:JDK 5.0 Migration (not before JDK 1.4 completes its end-of-life on 30 October 2008)
Tech:FCKEditor Integrationthis isn't easy to implement in a way that is elegant with current FCKEditor, so pushing to a later release.Tech:Emailwon't be ready for 0.8.0- DONE Tech:XML import. Note that future enhancements are planned, but the functionality implemented for 0.8.0 is a nice improvement over what was available previously.
- DONE Tech:Mediawiki Logs
- DONE Localize all messages in the upgrade process.
- DONE Add enhanced diff to show the portion of a line that changed.
- DONE Add "Show Changes" option when editing.
0.7.x
The major changes planned for the 0.7.x release cycle are:
