Not worth mentioning, Ryan, thanks to you for your work! I just provided some more corrections (inadvertently I did the previous upload as anonymous). I would like to get access to the Special:Translation tool hoping to have a bit of time to support JamWiki development. After dealing with that issue the question came up to me how rigorous one should handle translating. I guess nearly everybody knows the meaning of Link and Button, so should we translate this to Verweis and Knopf/Schaltfläche resp.? Thanks! Just gave it a trial...... a micro suggestion: sometimes it would be helpfull if the original English string displays in a separate column. That way it would be easier for translators to follow your intention.

Thanks again for making these changes! Regarding whether things like "Link" should be translated, as a native English speaker I don't really have much that I can add - whatever sounds best in the specified language would seem like the way to go; starting a discussion on the Feedback page might be a good way to solicit opinions from others.

Done. Adding the original English label to the translation tool is a great idea and I've added it to my to-do list for the next release, but feel free to remind me if it doesn't get done in the next couple of weeks - I tend to have a lot to keep track of, so it's easy for things to slip through the cracks. -- Ryan 30-Aug-2007 08:46 PDT

revision 1831 adds the English label to the Special:Translation page. I haven't yet copied this code to jamwiki.org but will probably do so in the next couple of days. -- Ryan 08-Sep-2007 13:27 PDT

New code is now on jamwiki.org - Special:Translation. There were some minor changes to the TranslationServlet code, so please let me know if you run into any issues, and let me know if you think of any other changes that would make the process easier - having the English label there definitely seems to be a nice improvement. -- Ryan 11-Sep-2007 21:53 PDT
